Glencore-Mutanda Mining’s Response to NGO letter to industrial operators in DRC regarding COVID-19
Our teams in the DRC work closely with local government, unions, the provincial health agency and other key stakeholders to provide effective local solutions to COVID-19. This includes temperature controls, PPE (Individual Protection Equipment), disinfectants and hand washing stations, social distance.
To date, our operations in the DRC have donated more than $1 million in medical equipment to Lualaba health authorities and are committed to providing life-saving training to public health personnel with a focus on infection control and protection of medical personnel. To support these efforts around the world, we recently launched the $25 million Glencore Community Support Fund. This fund will complement the efforts of our local teams to provide the support their communities need most right now.
